We are seeking a highly motivated Accountant to join our team in our Castle Rock, CO office. This position will work under the direction of the Assistant Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and perform monthly GL account reconciliations
- Record journal entries accurately, ensuring proper supporting documentation.
- Accrue unapproved invoices at month-end to ensure financial statements reflect accurate liabilities.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes
- Provide accounting support to the Assistant Controller & Controller, including data analysis on equipment, job rates, health insurance cost etc.
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and provide necessary support to external auditors.
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Assist in developing and improving accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Support the team with other accounting-related projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) with advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Experience with construction accounting software (Viewpoint, Spectrum, or similar) is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- OR 2+ years of relevant construction accounting experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting in a construction setting is a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- May require occasional travel to other divisions.
- Office-based work with varying temperatures.
Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Salary: Starting at $70,000, based on experience
