We are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager with bridge experience to join our team!
Responsibilities:
Project Management & Execution
Manage all phases of heavy highway and bridge construction projects from award through completion
Oversee project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and cost control
Manage cost/change control, including change order review, negotiation, pricing, and recommendations
Review and track all key project documents including submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, lien releases, permits, and payments
Create and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion and budget adherence
Coordinate with Superintendents regarding schedules, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, and project sequencing
Monitor daily project costs, quantities, production, quality, and progress
Review quality of field reporting and HCSS input including quantities, notes, and project documentation
Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract documents, specifications, OSHA regulations, and all applicable safety and environmental standards
Address project issues related to cost, schedule, quality, and constructability
Conduct regular project update meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, owners, and stakeholders
Prepare projections and cost-to-complete reports on a weekly basis
Bridge Construction Oversight
Manage bridge construction activities including structural concrete, deep foundations, retaining walls, drainage structures
Review bridge plans, specifications, staging requirements, and sequencing for constructability and execution
Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality control requirements for bridge and roadway work
Ensure adherence to DOT, municipal, and public agency standards and requirements
Assist with plan revisions, pricing, as-builts, and owner-directed changes throughout the project lifecycle
Subcontractor & Supplier Management
Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships from buyout through project closeout
Negotiate and administer contracts and subcontracts
Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials and equipment
Review and approve subcontractor invoices and progress payments
Ensure subcontractors maintain compliance with project safety and quality standards
Client & Team Communication
Maintain positive and professional relationships with owners, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
Communicate effectively with Operations Managers, General Superintendents, Field Superintendents, and estimating teams
Participate in project handoff meetings from estimating to operations
Provide leadership and direction to project teams to ensure successful project execution
Other Duties
Assist with estimating, budgeting, and preconstruction planning as needed
Support project closeout documentation and final turnover
Other duties as assigned by Manager
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of bridge construction methods, heavy highway construction, and DOT/public works projects
Ability to manage multiple bridge projects simultaneously
Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Experience with change order management, contract administration, and subcontractor management
Knowledge of construction means and methods, safety regulations, and quality control procedures
Strong leadership, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and HCSS products (Heavy Job, Heavy Bid, etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with field personnel, subcontractors, owners, and inspectors
Superior customer service and relationship management skills
Education and Experience:
Education: Minimum High School Diploma/GED required; Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree preferred.
Experience: Experience: 5+ years of experience managing Civil, Heavy Highway, and/or Bridge Construction projects required. Previous field experience in bridge or heavy civil construction preferred.
Salary: $100,000 + based on experience.

Office Roles:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Climate-controlled office environment with varying temperatures
Occasional travel to jobsites with exposure to fluctuating weather conditions
Shop & Field Roles:
Work performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, ranging from freezing temperatures to heat above 90°F, in both wet and dry conditions
Work may be performed in confined spaces
Exposure to odors, gases, dust, and dirt
Noise levels ranging from moderate to loud
Frequent lifting and carrying of 10-60 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
Frequent overhead reaching and lifting
Majority of time spent standing, crawling, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching
Manual labor, including hand digging as needed
Some Saturday work is required; Sundays are rarely needed
